Have you noticed that the most important celebrations are related to or use light to dress their events. Typically at Christmas time colored lights fill the streets, Christmas trees and illuminate houses ... But there are other typical Spanish festivities which are decorated with light. In some small towns, streets are flooded with colorful lighting for festivals and are decorated with lanterns. There are also the halloween pumpkins or typical children watermelon lanterns.

What are fireworks shows other than spectacles of light and sounds? What have we seen from “las fallas” fireworks displays and the Seville April fair of southern Spain? What about Easter? What about the churches? Putting religious beliefs aside, religious monuments have done and are doing amazing things with both natural light and artificial decorative lighting that are specifically designed for this purpose, from flood lights with a clear objective or artificial classical lighting such as candles. But in all cases, if you look, the secret is not only in the use of lamps or valuable objects to be illuminated but it is in the way of distributing and playing with them and their illumination characteristics ...

Can you imagine Easter without the appropriate lighting? Are you able to visualize most historic buildings and monuments without architectural lighting? The truth is that it is this art that enhances the beauty of the objects and increases the emotional experiences attached to these moments. And in this essence we should also consider when to illuminate spaces, including in our home. Because, however much one might say, it is not the same a romantic with candlelight than without...
